Description

Tryptophan is an amino acid.

Without the proper levels of BH4, Tryptophan can be converted into kynurenine and quinolinic acid, a neurotoxin. 1

Side note: this is also why Quinolones (like Ciprofloxacin) are so dangerous to those with MTHFR.
